Commissions
The process for commissioning a painting is straight forward. The first step I would recommend to any client is to look at my past commissions to visualise the style of painting you might expect.
I can arrange a visit in order to take photos of the required subject (such as a portrait). Alternatively, if a visit is not possible (it may be a surprise gift), I will need to see a selection of photographs you may already have on the subject required.
Technical details:
The painting will be produced on a hand stretched, triple coated, primed canvas or board.
The size of the canvas/board will be agreed in advance.
Only the finest professional oil paints will be used.
The painting will be supplied with a re-touching varnish applied.
The painting will be supplied unframed (unless agreed otherwise, in which case I will be happy to custom fit the frame myself. I can provide examples to suit your tastes.)
The anticipated timing to complete the work once it is commenced is as follows:
10-14 days painting (in most cases)
7 days drying
1-2 days for varnish to dry
A deposit of 50% is required following the safe receipt of the photo(s), and the agreed image.
After the painting is completed, final payment is made and the painting carefully packaged and delivered to you. Final payment can also be made on delivery.
